National Accreditation Board for Testing Calibration Laboratories (NABL) has been established with the objective to provide Government, Industry Assocations and Industry in general with a scheme for third-party assessment of the quality and technical competence of testing and calibration laboratories that are performing tests / Calibrations as per ISO / IEC 17025. NABL is an autonomous body under the aegis of Department of Science & Technology - Govt. of India & Government of India has Authorised NABL and SOLE Accreditations body in India.

NABL maintains its linkages with the international bodies like International Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation (ILAC) and Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation (APLAC). NABL is a signatory to ILAC & APLAC Mutual recognisation Association (MRA). Its Members include NATA(Australia), SCC (Canada), CNAL (People's Republic of China), HKAS (Hong Kong, China), KAN (Indonesia), JAB(Japan), IAJAPAN (Japan), VLAC (Japan), KOLAS (Republic of Korea), DSM (Malaysia), IANZ (New Zealand), SAC (Singapore), TAF (Chinese Taipei), DMSc (Thailand), TLAS (Thailand), A2Ia (United State of America), IAS (United State of America), NVLAP (United State of America) and BOA (Vietnam).
